Physiotherapy
Neurological physiotherapy rehabilitation 1:1 Treatment sessions
Neurological Physiotherapy is a specialist area of physiotherapy which helps you relearn and regain your movement when it has been affected by a neurological condition.
The brain and central nervous system can adapt and relearn movements through a process called neuroplasticity. We use specialist training and handling skills to guide you in relearning functional movements with your arms, legs and body. The process requires intensive training and repetition to ensure neuroplastic changes occur. We use state of the art virtual reality rehabilitation technology to help you manage these repetitions in an enjoyable way whatever level of movement you are starting at.
We start by completing a full neurological assessment of you and your abilities. You will be provided with a summary of this assessment and recommendations for your rehabilitation. Your needs and goals are the focus of the programmes we put together for you and all treatments are evidence based to give you the best outcomes.

I have had two strokes and some TIA’s and went to Jenny to try and recover some walking ability and functional use of my arm. Jenny has given me personalised exercises and one to one physiotherapy sessions. I would strongly recommend anyone with similar needs to use Jenny Baker.

Your sessions will include hands on therapy to help realign your posture, re-educate your muscles and movements and rebuild strength and balance to help you efficiently carry out everyday functions such as walking, dressing, eating etc. Individual treatment is always tailored to your needs and we emphasise a holistic approach to recovery. Apart from traditional neurophysiotherapy, we use cutting edge technology such as bodyweight support systems, FES and Tyromotion Rehab Technology. We can also offer Pilates and adaptive yoga classes to allow a full body approach, incorporating mind, body and breathwork to enhance your recovery.
Musculoskeletal 1:1 Treatment sessions
Your assessment will last 45 minutes and include initial treatment and advice with follow up sessions lasting half an hour or as agreed with your clinician. Musculoskeletal physiotherapists will assess your issue/condition and use manual skills as well as muscle re-education and exercises to guide your recovery.
With both musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy sessions, your individual exercises programme can be emailed or printed out for you. If emailed, the link includes videos of the exercises to help you carry them out effectively.

Remote Consultations
In the event that you are unable to attend the clinic we can offer a remote video consultation. This is carried out via a secure link sent to your email. You need only to have a laptop or computer with a camera of some kind to access this.
Remote Consultations work in a similar way to face to face consultations. The Physiotherapist will go through your medical history and presenting condition and ask detailed questions as well as asking you to carry out certain movements. This information and observations will allow the therapist to assess your condition and formulate a treatment plan. Your bespoke treatment plan will then be emailed or posted to you. This method is a cost effective and time efficient way to get specialist Physiotherapy advice and support. Please contact us for more details.
